I am looking at purchasing a hard floor off road camper trailer. Saw one advertised by
Market Direct Campers "Voyager RF".
Does anyone have any knowlege in regards to this brand.
Opinions would be welcome as to which would best suit my needs. Only has to accommodate the two of us.

Being Chinese made, some say the quality is suspect while others say for the price they are good. Some will also say buy Australian made, but it also depends on what you can afford and the one you are looking at is a hell of a lot cheaper than the Aussie ones of similar design.
Spoke to an elderly couple in
Derby who had a MDC soft floor and while theirs was pretty basic, they were very happy with it and it looked solid enough.
Hopefully someone who owns one will reply to you.
Kevin

Thanks Kevin. I am a bit suspicious of buying something made in China. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Yeah I agree. I would only buy Australian made camping gears and equipment. China made may have a cheaper price. But you would compromise the quality.

Hi Kumunara
Have a look at my reply in post 98479.
Please make sure you do your research and are happy before making a purchase.

Have a look at the Journeyman, from
Camp In Comfort in QLD (
check the internet and if you are interested give
Ross a ring).
We have recently bought one of these built for two, forward-folding
campers and, having brought it back from Qld, are looking forward to getting away once GC number four is delivered and mum and GC doing
well.
They are superbly thought out and built. The forward folding design means that nothing except the wheels and the stabilisers touch the ground. At the Caulfield camping and caravan show, on a hot day, the Journeyman was noticeably cooler than other
campers.
With airbag
suspension and compact size it is a doddle to tow.
Good luck in your search
KenD

It looks the goods but is 3 times the cosy of the one he asked about. If it were me I would look again at the MDC model.

Note to self. Don't type in the dark. That should be "cost", not "cosy"!

Ross was talking about making a more budget oriented model so it might still be useful to have a chat with him.
Note to Ian: I knew what you meant.
cheers

Ken. Thank you for your advice. Had a look at the Journeyman and it is not what I am looking for. It would not suit my needs.

We bought a cheapie - Chinese imported bits assembled in Aust.
Pinnacle is the brand.
Overall we are quite happy with it. Had a few minor issues which, given the price of the unit I was expecting - all sorted out by me quite easily and cheaply.
Independent
suspension, battery, internal light, electric water pump, 4 burner stove, new tyres (albeit Chinese), off-road hitch, large front box, large
water tank.
Have used it quite a bit and still going strong.
Best if you see whatever you want to buy in the flesh as some units sound good on the website but look like crap in real life. At least that's my experience.

Bought an MDC camper earlier this year and apart from the normal minor mods that were needed, I haven't had any issues at all.
Mind you the wheel bearings were replaced prior to using it for the first time, only to find only about a teaspoon of grease in each hub.
Cheers
Paul
